Chris Pratt to star in coming-of-age karate comedy The Black Belt

is getting ready to kick things up a notch after being cast in the coming-of-age comedy The Black Belt.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy star, 41, will star in the indie flick, playing the ‘unorthodox’ uncle of a ‘shy unassuming teen boy on the quest for expertise in karate,’ according to .

Pratt will also produce via his company Indivisible Productions, with producing partner Jon Schumacher.

Monarch Media’a Steve Barnett and bit.ly Alan Powell will also produce. Vicky Patel of Monarch will be executive producing.

The story was written as a spec by Randall Green, who wrote several episodes of Billions as well as the 2019 film The Perfect Date.
